Ca-PSZ Powder – High-Performance Material for Ceramics and Refractories

Overview
Ca‑PSZ (Calcia‑Partially Stabilized Zirconia) powder is a high‑performance zirconia‑based material produced through a specialized electric arc melting and quenching process. By precisely controlling the CaO (calcia) content during production, we offer a range of grades tailored for different ceramic and refractory applications. The material exhibits excellent strength, hardness, and outstanding thermal shock resistance, making it an ideal choice for demanding high‑temperature environments.

Production Process
Our Ca‑PSZ powder is manufactured by electric arc melting followed by rapid quenching, which yields a partially stabilized zirconia with a fine, uniform microstructure. The CaO content is carefully adjusted to achieve the desired balance of mechanical and thermal properties for specific end‑uses.

Key Properties

  • High mechanical strength and hardness.

  • Excellent resistance to thermal shock and thermal cycling.

  • Good chemical stability at elevated temperatures.

  • Low thermal conductivity, suitable for insulating applications.

  • Tailorable properties through CaO content variation.

Applications

  • Ceramic components: Used in the production of high‑grade zirconia ceramics for electronic burner nozzles, calibration nozzles, slide plates (sliding gates), and invasive nozzles (immersion nozzles) for continuous casting.

  • Refractory shapes: Manufactured into zirconia‑based refractories and specialty furnace fittings for high‑temperature industrial kilns and furnaces.

  • Other uses: Applicable in wear‑resistant parts, thermal barrier coatings, and structural ceramic components.

Product Grades
We offer several Ca‑PSZ grades with varying CaO contents, each optimized for specific ceramic or refractory requirements. Custom formulations can be developed upon request.

Handling and Storage
Store in a dry, sealed container to prevent moisture absorption and contamination. Standard industrial hygiene practices should be followed during handling.

Packaging
Available in 25 kg bags, 50 kg drums, or bulk containers. Custom packaging on request.

Quality Assurance
Each batch is characterized for chemical composition, particle size distribution, phase composition (by XRD), and physical properties to ensure consistent product quality.
