Overview
Benzyl glycidyl ether is synthesized by the dehydration reaction of benzyl alcohol with epichlorohydrin. It is a monofunctional glycidyl ether containing a benzyl (aromatic) group, which imparts rigidity to the cured epoxy network, resulting in higher heat distortion temperature compared to butyl glycidyl ether. It is characterized by low toxicity, almost no unpleasant odor, and good environmental and occupational safety.
